Middletown Adventist School

On Sunday, October 13, our Annual Healthfair Walk-a-Thon was held to a record crowd.

The school students obtained sponsors who would guarantee an amount chosen by the sponsor that would be contributed to the school fund drive.  The amounts were usually based on a dollar figure per lap or mile the student walked on the course. Some simply pledged a fixed dollar amount.  It started out as a chilly morning but soon warmed to a beautiful day with many miles walked.

Getting Ready

Meanwhile the health screening and information was provided by St Helena Hospital for all who desired tests ranging from blood pressure to cholesterol.  Numerous vendors with information and products were also at their tables to assist and inform visitors.  Several locations had excellent healthy food available.  It was a fun time.  Many community members dropped by and got acquainted.  They were cheerfully welcomed.

Walk-a-Thon in Progress

The event was a huge success with more than $13,000 raised to contribute to the school operating expenses.  Several indicated an interest in providing their children with a Christian Education.

We are very thankful for all who volunteered and contributed their efforts and expertise to make this a great event and another opportunity to be of service to our community.  Also thank you to St Helena Hospital for your generous donation of supplies, personnel and some matching funds.
